and Retailers
Smartphones have already begun to change the relationship between customers and retailers. According to a recent Accenture study, 73% of mobile users would rather use their phone to find out information in a store, with only 15% preferring to interact with an employee. Clearly, setting up mobile phone apps for customers to use in store can improve customer relations.
How does it work?
- The customer opts-in to the program to allow the retailer to use their location to provide them with information. That’s all they have to do.
- The customer then uses the mobile app to perform simple tasks in the store, such as finding out if the store carries a specific piece of merchandise.
- The app determines the customer’s location and provides information about that specific store.
