Know Caller Location Using Locaid's Location-Finding Technology

Knowing a caller’s location makes it easier to dispatch services to them, be it a tow truck, a taxi, or a Thai chicken pizza.

Caller ID has made it possible for businesses to know who is calling so that they are better able to respond when they receive a call. Now location-based services let you take it one step further and know where a caller is located. Knowing a caller’s location makes it easier to dispatch services to them, be it a tow truck, a taxi, or a Thai chicken pizza. It also makes it easier to route a caller automatically to the closest service provider—if the phone is in Texas, the tow truck should be too. But most importantly, location information can help find customers who don’t know where they are, from shoppers who don’t know their zip code but know that they would like to find the nearest restaurant to those broken down on a lonely highway in the middle of the night.

How does it work?

  1. The customer opts-in to the program to allow the business to use their location to provide them with information. That’s all they have to do.
  2. When the customer calls in, their phone is located using network location data.
  3. Their call is dispatched to someone best suited to handle their request.
  4. Services are sent to the correct location—from a physical item such as a tow truck to turn by turn directions to where the customer wishes to go.
